Does the $489 package include transportation?
Yes, the 5-day experience includes round-trip transportation between designated arrival/departure service area and your host-family accomodation. We will coordinate your transportation according to your flight arrival and departure.
Can I buy and prepare my own food ?
Absolutely. Your private bedroom is in a host-family home, where you will have access to a shared kitchen, bathroom, refrigerator, and laundry area, so you are welcome to purchase and prepare your own food. GEA has local providers who are part of the associates in the organization and follow quality standards. You are free to choose whichever option works best for you.
Do I need to travel with a medical insurance?
Yes, we strongly recommend purchasing personal travel insurance that covers medical care and activities during your stay. GEA does not provide personal medical or accident insurance. In case of an emergency, we can coordinate with the local emergency transportantion provider to take you to the nearest clinic in 27 de Abril.
Do I need previous environmental or conservation experience?
Not at all! You don’t need previous experience in conservation, recycling, or environmental work. The program is designed for people who are courious, open to learning, and willing to participate. You’ll receive guidance throughout the activities and have the opportunity to learn directly from local community members and GEA’s team.
